I'd read elsewhere on here (and seen on YouTube) that removing my Ranger's front valance should be pretty easy - just the 8 bolts from underneath + the foglight housing bolts. I tried doing this on my own but ended up giving up due to the level of corrosion. Had to bring my truck in for an airbag recall anyway, so thought I'd see how much Ford would charge me to do it.

They're trying to tell me that the entire bumper needs to come off, that there are bolts coming from the top as well holding the valance on. Is this BS? I'm likely going to either take it home and struggle with the job myself, corrosion and all, or I'll bring it to a shop I trust more. I just wasn't sure whether to trust them or not - it'd suck to get all those bolts out and realize I need to take the bumper off to finish the job. Thanks in advance.
