From Tenacity21, a person who works at the Ranger plant. He talks about there are '06s out on the lot sitting right now w/ the black covers on them. It looks as though they decided to not use the old Sport name they used in the 90's and decided to use the EDGE name instead. I think I'll have to buy me a set of those taillamps for my ranger. He took a few pics, but here's the only one he posted:

Still despise the fake rivet nonsense on the flares...actually I hate flares come to think of it.

Nice but I still dont like the fronts.

I love the Ranger badge on the tailgate.....two of those would look awesome to put one on each front fender, replacing the old ranger tags.

I'm getting those Ranger emblems FOR SURE as soon as they are available. As for the ****** style nissan wannabe flares, STUPID ****ing move on Ford's part. Talk about a step BACKWARDS.

he also said in 07 the ranger will be axed...who knows...

side note, saw ford is REALLY hurting. but then in my petersons they are testing the market for the Boss Hoss F-350...aimed to take on the Power Wagon and H2...maybe the 06 Fusion will bail Ford out and bring the domestic car market back into the blue oval.

I think the Ranger could really be competitive again if Ford just gave it a chance and actually put some work into it. Why they are neglecting the Ranger and wasting time and money on things like the Freestyle I just don't get. I'm worried they will replace the Ranger with some SUT...which considering the poor sales of the Sport Trac doesn't make much sense.

The Fusion is a nice car, but I think it will have the same fate as the Contour.

i think its cause the ranger is 3rd on fords sale list

1) f150

2) mustang

3) ranger

they redesigned both and are keeping them, but i heard by 2010, the ranger will be no more.....until they come out with an equivilant...like the s-10 and colorado

there will be a ranger it will be totaly different there workin on it at dads work in dearborn mi....its going to be bigger too so sad

I dont know the guy...just found the link through some '06 Ranger searching. I do agree with you on the issue of pics of unrealeased material. Kind of like bootlegging almost. The person, this "Tenacity21," is the one to whom is in the wrong for posting on the net. It speads like a wildfire. of course, i'm the helper of the spreading, but it's all good.

I really like the grill on the new rangers and the bigger ford emblems in all the truck looks pretty decent the fender flares are a different story.
