When was the last time a tune up was done? Check your air filter, change fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, etc if they haven't been done in a while.

Shouldn't need plugs and wires, but check the air filter, and swap out the fuel filter. Both cheap and easy to do, worth a shot.

Why would you downgrade from Mobil 1?

If you can't even change your own oil, I'd suggest taking your truck to a shop and have them find the problem.

Different oil brands won't drop your mpg. Jiffy ***** probably fucked something up.

I wouldn't put it past the shop to mess something up, intentionally or not, and you end up having to go back to spend more money.

I would still check the air filter, fuel filter is cheap and easy to do, clean MAF, check your plugs, they may be fouled up.

Good luck. Do some searching on here for old threads, how-to threads, and maybe buy a repair manual for your truck so you can handle the easier stuff. Save you a little bit of money. Hopefully it's something simple.

That is a huge drop. I would think you would experience a drivability issue.

I haven't noticed any power lose ,,It still scoots when throttle is applied ,I wonder if the could be a vacuum leak as ,One older search thread said something about the ac compressor kicking in when it shouldn't ,,But I haven't seen any fixes yet,,

your gas may have changed.

NY used to do this, we had summer gas (pure gas) and winter gas (10% ethenol)

problem is winter gas is a 10% mileage hit.

Now that NY just got rid of summer gas all together, we never regained that 10% ever again and people forgot/ dont care
