33/12.50/15

ok want a set of super swampers so bad but dont know what will fit can i fit a set of 33/12.50/15 thornbird tires on my 2000 ford ranger with only a 3in body lift

FULLSCALE 09-19-2012 08:38 PM

Shouldn't be a problem, there are lots of members on here running 33s with a body lift.

Mcleary316 09-19-2012 08:40 PM

If your truck is a 4x4 then you should be able to fit those no problem.

2004xlmiller 09-19-2012 09:02 PM

^^ha! no. run a body lift.

He already has a body lift. If hes 4x4 then 33s are no problem. If 4x2 then he needs smaller tires.

Wingman108 09-19-2012 09:50 PM

you may have to trim a small piece off of your valance and fender flair depending on if you crank your t-bars or even have flairs. i did for my 33s and their a/t's. but i havnt cranked my t-bars at all.

mudranger18 09-19-2012 10:22 PM

my ranger is a xlt 4x4 offroad edition but kool hope this looks good theres just something about the thormbirds i like so much

I didn't have to trim nothing on the front end, but I did have to trim some of my bed behind the flares on both sides as at full flex in the rear my tires were catching on it and it put nice little slices in my tires.

As shown here, the red shows how much I removed behind the flares.

2004xlmiller 09-20-2012 10:56 AM

why are you running thornbirds? those tires suck more than a $5 hooker... get TSLs!

zane_pauls 09-20-2012 07:46 PM

^^ This. Thornbirds are terrible. IF, you feel you must have Swampers, get TRXUS or TSLs.

mudranger18 09-22-2012 01:33 PM

i just like how they look but i might be getting a set of tsl fr cheap so ill jut try those for now

mudranger18 09-25-2012 06:57 PM

So got a set of tsl swampers 33/12.50/15 but need new rims i know i need 15s but do i get 15x8 or 15x10 sorry guys new at the tire thing

98liftedranger 09-26-2012 10:46 AM

Get 15x10's they will look better.

2004xlmiller 09-26-2012 07:16 PM

they will look awesome but rub on full flex.

mudranger18 09-27-2012 03:31 PM

hey guys another question my buddy has a 98 ranger with a 8 inch lift and he wants to go stock will the lift kit fit on my 2000 ranger both 4x4 v6 just thought it would saveme some money and would look badass

98liftedranger 09-28-2012 08:03 PM

If they are both 4x4 yes. But what does he have for 8" of lift? The only way to get that would be 5.5" RCD and a body lift.

nonsense I never had a problem on 15x10's with 33's

rangerstepside 11-28-2012 09:04 PM

no need for a body lift, if i can clear 35's barely with just a t-bar crank i ran 33 12.50 no prob with no lift

i call crazy bullshit on this! my 05 rubbed like crazy, could not even turn full lock without rubbing the sway bar without a body lift. my t-bars were maxxed and i had belltech shackles on the rear!

i can fit 35s now with my bodylift though

Remember people...just because you "can", doesn't mean you "should".

There is a big difference between 'half-assing' things just to be able to say you have it, and actually doing it the right way.

:thumbsdow

i fully agree with this. i just test fit them, couldnt turn, couldnt flex. but it rolled and thats all it did. 33's cleared ok stock. driveable on the road. if you still call bullshit try it. worked on mine, just couldnt wheel til i lifted it.

LOL

It just pisses me off to hear more and more people slapping some 35's on their truck just to say they have them.

It's sad really.

Don't judge me when I get mine! :approve:

ranger4.0 11-30-2012 02:29 PM

i called bullshit because i took the comment to mean you can barely fit 35s and drive with just a t-bar crank. i know you can clear 33s with just a t-bar crank because i did it for over 6 months. but it rubbed a lot
