i was just wondering how hard would it be to get my engine rebuilt in my 87 ranger. It is a 2.3 liter diesel with a 4spd manual with overdive. i was also wondering how much would it probably cost

 

wow you have a VERY rare truck... i would call around to some local diesel repair shops to see how much it would cost

 

Too bad it wasn't an 88, they turbo charged the diesel ranger in 88.

 

04 edge, my truck is an 87 my particular truck i did find out was offer with this engine in 86 and 87 but just with the 2.3 liter which is a mitsubishi engine and transmission the two years you are talking about they did put diesel engines in them but i don't know what size

No. The diesel was in production until the end of the 1988 model year. There was a 2.2L and a 2.3L diesel.

The 2.0L was a gas engine.

My pickup is 2wd with 3.73 ratio rear axle. So far every thing on it is orginal no modification as of yet due to lack of money

 

Just the fact that it's a diesel is awesome to me, mods or not. Have you found a way to get it rebuilt yet?
