92 ranger overheated
my son has a 92 ranger...was leaking antifreeze so mechanic replaced the radiator...couple days later still has a small leak so replaced the water pump...son drove it about 25 miles, started losing power and finally died...wouldn't restart...batter turned over a few times and i loosened the radiator cap due to the build up of pressure...tried to start it a bit later and it goes clunk...nothing else mechanic says battery is fried so tried a new battery and same thing any suggestions? we're thinking a cracked head or gasket or something drastic...can't afford any more money to the mechanic thanks for your help this is mom so please forgive me for not sounding too intelligent about vehicles

When the radiator was replaced did the mechanic let it run until the thermostat opened up and top off the radiator and reservoir? Check the level of coolant in the reservoir and in the radiator if both are low it sounds like he did not top it off, possibly causing severe overheating. Best of luck

not sure if he let it run or not until thermostat opened but they are full of antifreeze...mechanic did say he drove it about 20 miles and all seemed fine
