98-00 Ranger 4x4 Manual Locking Hubs

I have a '99 Ranger 4x4 with the PVH system that is messed up. I have searched and followed a LOT of posts about AVM manual locking hubs that are now available (p/n 470). Has anyone found an easy LOCAL way to get these hubs?

The best I can tell, we need to work with a British or German distributor. Anyone know a better way? I need these hubs!

Thanks in advance.

Where did you find this information? Have you tried asking the people who did it before? Or were they the ones telling you to go to the Brits and the Germans?

There is a whole crop of people waiting for the manual locking hubs to come out for the '98-'00 Ranger with the Pulse Vacuum Hub system. It's be held up for over a year. There is a company that has the locking hubs, but they are in Brazil and do not have US distributors. Several people have gotten the hubs through the UK or German distributors. The last post for this subject was several months ago. I thought by now someone would have had a local source.

I know that I had given some info about the AVM hubs in another thread a while back, but I can't find it.

I called the company located in brazil, and was told that I had to go through the distributor in europe to get them shipped to the U.S.

The total cost to buy them and ship them here, was about $600 U.S. $$$$

If you want to spend that kind of money, then go for it. I passed on it.

When I called the company, they said that the manual hubs would work on the U.S. rangers. But they were too pricey for me.

The company's web site is AVM MANUAL HUBS

Give it a shot and call them. The prices might have gone down a bit since I called.
