Air Compressors.
damn man, 4 posts? lol jk
I may just get the Craftsman one for now, its $100 less, and I'll buy the extended coverage. $100 buys me lots of tools i've been wanting right?
its rated at 4.8 CFM which is what my biggest consuming tool is rated at so i should be *ok*

it will work fine. When you have a full shop making rock crawlers fulltime it will be underpowered and overworked. But anything in that price range will be. lol. right now that 33 gallon will work great.
Alright, after researching.. ish
well finally taking the time to dig around the snap on site, i figured out what my tools take and that the craftsman one will be sufficient....

I ran that Craftsman 33gal for a few years, selling now b/c I scored the Kobalt 80 gal. Ran fine, but it will run like crazy with a die grinder or sandblaster. Really could not use the full potential of the die grinder, but my IR die grinder uses A LOT of air. If you're running impacts, ratchets, etc you'll have no problems at all with that model.
I think mine takes 8-11 or so, but like you said, die grinder is a not a "main tool", so I never really minded waiting for the compressor to catch up. I usually just took a couple of swigs while waiting......
i know that the 1.2 CFM one that i got won't work.
i'm contemplating getting the 15 gallon dewalt and another tank, but then i run into the space issue again.
the craftsman one is 299, the husky is 399.. everything above the $180 for the small one i'm returning is out of my pocket which is why i'm thinking so hard about this lol
It looks like either one will be good. but then it comes down to oiled vs oil-less.. and i'm leaning more towards oiled.
7" Blue point air sander : 4.8 CFM
3" Snap on cut off : 2.9 CFM
Snap on Super Duty air hammer : 1.8 CFM
3/8" BP ratchet : 3.92 CFM
1/4" Collet BP Die grinder : 3.5 CFM
how is scfm so much more than cfm? what does the S stand for? the air ratchet is 3.92 cfm, 28 scfm

Standards...that really don't exist...and change...

so basically I don't need to worry about it.. ?
the little one down stairs is actually rated at 1.2 scfm :shrugs: i should be able to pick up an inline oiler and water collecter thingy at home depot if they don't have them at sears right?

i'm really not concerned about it.
my trucks noisy, ****.. air tools are noisy, why does everyone complain about the compressor if the tools are louder?
there's a big red switch on it that can be turned to "off"
