they can fail from just being old they get worn out inside there is no way u can keep the orignail one on a 1997 truck my 1994 doesnt have the original and it was all stock acces 4 i got it

The alternator? If that is what you mean I just replaced it a few months ago with a 120amp brand new one.
It seems like it likes to die if I'm running errands and the truck keeps being shut off and started again.

Ok it started acting up again. I had the alt. and the battery checked both are fine. I replaced the IAC just in case since it was under warranty. I put a new belt on that I had laying around my garage and replaced the tensioner. I put the old tensioner back on and returned the one I purchased when the problem still persisted. I'm stumped here.
Still not throwing any codes. How about by MAF sensor or TPS? Would that cause my problem of the truck not staying running without me driving 2 footed? I cleaned the MAF last night and no results.
Please Help!!
