Going to the dealer this afternoon.
OK, I might regret this, but after talking to my Girl last night about my lack of an automobile. I called my buddy (Dealer) Larry and left him a message that I want to come over and talk about a few things.
after talking to the bank we realized because the Chevy is almost a ten year old truck they won't loan us the money for it with a decent interest rate. and the term will be 24 mos. Making it almost as much as my old truck payment.
I think she is a little tired of me B****ing about how much I miss my truck so I am going to at least investigate how much it would cost to get me into a 2006 Ranger. I have a few options.
First off I don't want aything less than a sport, and I just can't see spending the money on a Level II right now.
Option A: 2006-7 Sport EXT. cab 2WD limited slip with a 4.0. (Reason for thinking of a 4x2 is I would like to lift a truck just once and they are so much cheaper to lift)
Option B: 2006-7 Sport EXT. cab 4WD with a 4.0 (probably a Limited slip)
Either will be white with a Tan interior, buckets and if possible a CD-6. I see I can get a rear seat delete now on ford's website so It will have that also. Haven't decided on an auto or a stick yet. I love sticks but I am now going to drive through some horrible stop and go traffic and I hat rideing the clutch all the time. We'll see.
I am going to see if I can get any of these to fit in our price range. I should be able to still get X-plan as he is my buddy. I really wish I could still get an employee discount but we'll see.
The upside is, I can still be a Ranger owner, I will have a warranty again. I won't feel like an outcast here. I will no my own trucks Full history. I won't have to fumigate and steam clean the truck. (The Chevy was owned by a smoker and I hate that smell)
The downside is, I gave or sold all of my ranger stuff so I will have to start over (New topper/tonneau? new pipes, etc.) I will lose all the depreciation again. It has a Fugly grill and a Huge emblem on the tailgate that needs to go. And still no color I really like a ton.
Let me know what you think! Good, bad, WTH are you thinking!

Has anybody had the dealer switch tires for you? I hate Goodyear tires (I have my reasons) and it is all they can give me now. I'd be willing to give them some extra money for BFG's or at least some sort of a better tire.

Okay, I just went to Toyota's Website to see what a Taco cost, and OMG who would pay that? I have read the reviews and as long as they are made here I would consider it seeing as they seem to be a nice truck and they have a nice blue color. Well I picked a Ext. Cab 4x4 and it jumped me to 25K, started adding options and boom, I had a 30K small truck! Without even the Off-road package. I would hate to see what a Fully loaded truck costs. Seriously who buys these?

Still in the Exploration stages, so nobody get too excited. I got 16 days til the house Closing and I can't do anything before that. I just know I can't drive the caddy everyday much longer. Not to mention it is 100 degree out and I have no air in that car
I just keep coming back to the fact that if I am paying the same(per month) for the tenyear old truck as I would for a Brand new Ranger, that I might as well stick with what I know. I really wanted a fullsize, but I still can't afford a decent one, so I have given up on that. I've had people tell me that used is so much better than new for years, but I have come to the conclusion not to many people take care of their vehicles the way I do and it the price Difference between the new and old isn't worht dealing with someones LAX attitude towards maintenance.

I just built one as an FX4(not a Level II) and it is perfect! You can get the BFG's with Alcoas and all the options I want and it is only 1000 more than a sport. I want a white one even more as all FX4's come with a two tone Dark shadow grey and White looks so Good with a Grey Two tone, Not to mention the Grey Alcoas have to look super sharp on there. There isn't too many differences now between a regualar FX4 and a Levell II. Just bilsteins and a torsen rear end is all I can figure out.
The link wouldn't transfer so I just did screen caps:
This could easily become my new favorite Ranger!

OK you sonic Blue Guys get your tissues ready<----Just teasing a little . Click on the link go to colors and look. No more sonic Blue. Has anybody seen this Vista Blue? Is it anywhere close to Bright Island? If it is I will be all on that like a fat kid on a cupcake! It'll be like my first ranger (two tone blue/gey) just cooler and more Kicka$$

Ok on there website it looks like Bright islandish, now I found a mustang that is advertised as Vista Blue, but I can't tell from the pic, some of it looks like Island Blue and some of it looks like sonic. Anyone seen one inperson?

Here's something to encourage your search for a new truck. 5yr 60K mile powertrain warranty on the 07 models.
