im pretty sure most of us have seen it, I didn't even have to watch the video to already know what it is. i heard a while back that there we're some guys making a quick "fix" for it by putting some kind of plate or something in front of rod so you can't hook it. but note, this only works for 02 and down rangers. you can't do it in the new ones, we've tried at work.

Mods, please lock and delete this thread.

You can fix this, but you'd have to take your door panels off and either JB weld or caulk some sort of block off plate on both sides.

Why exactly does that "feature" exist? Ford must have made it that way for a reason, but why?

Even if you can get in to the truck that easy, there is still the problem of trying to start it with no key.

Right but once they're in, they can take what they want. It's almost as bad if you open the door and see someone's gone through everything you have in there vs. someone taking your rig.

OMG, I just read watched that video, Went out and tried it on my 2004 and it popped right open.. How stupid that this exists ?

My mother also owns a 2004 and she locks her keys in her truck atleast once a month.. I believe she's put a few pop-a-lock techs kids through college... She'll be pissed off to know how easy this was !

Maybe i just suck at opening them, pretty sure i tired it once and failed. i know you cant do it on the new ones, casue i've had people who have no problem doing it every time that can't open up newer ones. im thinking of doing a quick fix for it, maybe i'll make a how-to out of it.

I haven't done this yet, but I'm glad i know how to do it.

And to the guys complaining, there are many other easy ways to break into our trucks. Just don't leave anything valuable in sight and don't blast your stereo (if you have a nice one) in public places just before you park it. Using common sense will help avoid your truck getting broken into more than a car alarm will. If someone wants in bad enough they'll get in.

exactly. its not about taking the truck. its about taking whatevers inside. its almost more agrivating to find the idiot left the antenna on your passenger floor board then breaking the window or something. as me how i know.. it sucks. this thread needs to go.

This is great information for all of us to know. I've used it before when I locked my keys in my truck at the auto parts store. Its not bad to have the info on here but broadcasting it on the news is different. There is no point to delete the thread cause most morons that would break into vehicles would probably look on youtube first on how to break in before they look here. Get over it. I've had my truck broke into twice and stuff stolen. Nothing I can do about it.
