Anyone know anything about buying FLEET Rangers?

I am just looking for a new cheap, bare bones ranger. Anyone have any idea on how to go about getting one (new)?

a new fleet usual means you have to have a business. you can hop on FORD.com and build your ranger and inventory search and try to find something close may i ask why you want a door nobber?

I have better luck dealing with inventory on hand. A dealer trying to move some cars to the public is gonna be better than bareboning a truck. I could be wrong but that's my assumption. It used to be $5500 off (3 in stock) and they were sold before the paper got printed. Now a days you can see ads for $5500 off ALL rangers, $7500 off ALL f-150's etc. At least in my area. I don't use that dealer that runs the ads but I have my dealer match the price.

It is buying season for the closeout 2006's.

$10,500-$11,000 for a 3.0 single cab edge with automatic and no power locks was the last new one I bought. It is peppy without all the extra weight. i would love to put a 4.0 in it some day.

Every dealership I went to had a fleet department.

Fleet sales > general sales .... without any doubt what so ever. Fleet guys get paid per sale, not a percentage.

Ford made 4WD XL models available to everyone in 2004.

Dealers around here typically keep several bare bones trucks in stock...usually the only option is A/C. I do not think you will have any trouble finding one.

Bare Bones with A/C will run 13k. The dealership I work at has ONE in stock. Summary of the bare bones with A/C. color wouldnt matter, there is no charge for whatever color you pick.

It's all relative. We had a small Ranger meet at the track. It kept decent pace with my 4.0 SOHC 4x4 and beat the 3.0 and 4.0 (ohv) extended cabs by 1/2 to a full second in the 1/4 mile. Maybe it was the Underdog pulley in it? lol. While I'd like to credit that, the weight difference is a big factor.

Actually it's not a bad idea.....buy it cheap and then put whatever mods you want on it. At least you start from ground zero, and make it into whatever you want.

Hope it works out.
