Attempted Break In!!!!!!

So, I went out to my truck Sunday morning to go to church and found this...

I was so mad that I couldn't even talk. Someone tried to break into the passenger door of my truck. The lock was punched out and they scratched the door all up around it. There were also some strange drips of florescent orange paint on the door which I don't have a clue why they would be there. Anyway, they didn't even get in because they broke something inside and the handle won't work any more. The stupid thing is that I don't even have anything to steal. My interior is entirely stock. If they were planning on stealing the truck, there's no way they would have pulled that off if they couldn't even manage to get inside.
To top everything off, I called the police to make a report and they didn't even bother coming out. They asked a few questions and gave me a case number over the phone. It's good to know that they care.
This sucks because I just bought a house that I'm fixing up and going to be moving in a month. I hate apartments. I had a mustang before the Ranger and someone keyed it in the parking lot. Not just keyed the side...no, they keyed it all the way around twice! That happened about a month after I had switched it to plpd insurance. I can't wait to get out of there.
So, I have to call the insurance company today and see if they are going to cover the custom paint job on my truck. Hopefully it can be fixed easily.

Damn that sucks bro, but I know how you feel. They see nice rims and a flashy paint job and think there is a huge stereo in it, not noticing the stock Ford cd player inside.

Exactly what I was thinking. 1/4th of the work for a shave-job is already done for you!

I don't know about shaving it. I don't want to have to repaint any more than I have to. I just have to get out of this apartment! My new house is in a really nice neighborhood and I have a 2 car garage.

I do probably need to do that. Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of alarm I should get? Wouldn't they still have punched the lock in before the alarm went off if I had one?

Viper and Clifford are both alarms that are well worth the money.

Sorry to hear about that man! Your truck is sooo nice, I can't believe they f*cked it up like that!

No kidding...havn't they ever heard of a slim jim. A radio would have been a lot easier to replace than the paint.

Slim Jim, Air Wedge, Long Rod...the tools are endless. I have unlocked trucks for work all the time. I also have a master key for several models of International and Ford trucks as well.

They are probably just a couple of punk kids that think if the outside is this nice, he has to have something cool on the inside.

Borrow a friends paintball gun and go to a dollar store and pick up a package of marbles. Some kid threw rocks into the yard trying to hit my truck and I was so close to finding a paintball gun, but I just took my dogs collar off and she ran him down.. can't say I've ever seen him around the subdivision again.
get a guard dog to keep in your box

I've got the get out of the Ghetto! There were tons of cops in my complex last night and I just read the article about it in the paper. 1 guy was shot and another run over by a car last night when their plot to rob a drug dealer turned violent. And I thought that I lived on the "nice" side of town!

Yeah i think its time to shave the locks, get a nice alarm (black widow was a nice one i had on my car, viper, ect) It would have went off on the 1st wack of the hammer to get your lock out....In fact, might as well get remote start while your there, lol....but no, get an alarm, and have a body shop shave your door locks...its not going to make you get more painted you will more than likely have to get your whole door repainted.....

Well at least they didn't know what they were doing. Every vehicle has its own little trick of getting in, besides breaking the window. Obviously these guys wanted the truck, but were just too stupid to pop the lock. Maybe they were hoping you left the keys in, imagine these dirt bags trying to boost it......****, they might have electricuted themselves in the process....LOL

My brothers old Corsica had a few screwdriver holes in the passenger side door.....too bad that only works on Civic's...LOL Too bad they don't stay in school, at least then they might learn a thing or too.....

Yeah for uneducated youth. LOL
