Axles

I am just about to pull the trigger on a new axle and I just want to make sure they will fit.

Will all 8.8 ranger axles fit my 1996 4.0 ext cab xlt regardless if they come for a 3.0, 4.0 or any ranger newer than 1996. The one I am looking at is a 2004 B4000 axle with a 4.10 LSD.

Just want to make sure it will fit.

Short answer: Yes

Long answer:
All Ranger axles were the same length, the only difference is the Gearing (could be 3.73s or 4.10s) and in the FX4 rangers, the axle shaft has a higher spline count (31 vs 28)

The 2003 and 2004 FX4 lvl2's came with a 31 spline.
