i dont see why you cant take a single day off from work.
is that 7 days a week, school and work from 7am to 10pm? what about weekends?

or pull the pile into a barn and start parting it out.

I think what your saying here, is MAKE TIME.

Yeah, if he's a mechanic it shouldn't be such an ordeal for him. Is he 100% sure it's the headgasket anyways?

I've put headgaskets on in as little as 2 hours. I did a 4banger Cavalier once in about in hour.
I think he said that he compression tested the cylinders and thats how he found out.

I check on alldata...looks like the time for one headgasket calls for about 8 hrs. I'm sure there is quite a bit of ground to be made up on that too.

Fixed a Marauder once that some thugger-bumpers stole and dumped stuff similar to this into it. Clogged up the heater core real bad.

Yea that's why a bypassed my core for now. I sucked it up and bought all the parts looks like she goes under the knife tomorrow morning at 7am in the driveway. The only reason i don't enjoy working on it outside of work is because i am limited to tools, limited to part department and i don't have all the necessities as i do in the shop. So big jobs I end up having done. After reading alldata and looking at what it costs at the dealer i figured heck ill do my first headgasket job on my truck. It will be a learning experience. As always i have RF to post on if i get in a knot.

They should be, as far as I know, the engine, frame and cab are all stamped to match

Did you take pics during the rebuild?
