Bed size help!

I was given a 2000 ranger xlt. It did not come with a bed. I need to know what size bed to get and I am not sure how to find out if it is long or short. Or what all will fit. Also best places to find a bed?

I tried a vin search and it shows almost every spec but that lol.

any help is appreciated!!!

With the Supercab, You have a 6 foot bed. the short bed

Rangers came with or without the wheel well moulding, there are holes in the sides of the bed for it.

To get a bed with matching style wheel well moulding as what you have on the front of your 2000, you'll want a bed from 97 to 2004.

If you don't care about the moulding, any 6' bed from 93 to 2011 will work, from I think 2006 to 2011 there are more bolt holes than you need, just don't use the extra holes

You can even put a stepside Ranger bed on it if you want.

Grab a rear bumper while you're at the salvage yard (unless it came with it and you have it somewhere in storage).

+1 ^^^^

Any bed from 1993 to 2011 Super cab or regular cab will fit, there was just one size, 6ft
Just NOT from a "Long Bed Ranger", 7ft bed, these had different rear frames so the wheel wells are 6" farther back

1999-2011 will have correct wiring for your 2000 "2 wire" tail light setup, 1998 and earlier use "3 wire" not a big deal but one less thing to do

Yes, you can use a regular side or a step side bed, but each style used different Filler tube(gas tank filler) and different width rear bumper(and tail gate)

I used a '95 Stepside 6' Bed on my '03 Ranger EDGE.

I couple thoughts:

Only problem I haven't... modified the bed for the Spare Tire Elevator Rod, never used the '03 OEM Spare Tire Mounting System, the spare in the bed. The taillights mounted the same and the Fuel Fill is the same.

Taillights need the correct socket for that year taillight... but I did use my '03 Taillight sockets with a little tweaking to the locking tabs.
