Uh I used the Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter and Duplicolor Black for Vinyl I think. Got it from Autozone.

first 4.0L

Hi guys I'm new here and was just wondering what year model recieved the 4.0L in any configuration DOHC/SOHC? I always thought it was post '96, but someone recently told me they were offered in a '94, is that correct? Thanks, Rudy.

I think they first came out in 90 or maybe 91, but i think 92 was the first year they were offerd with a M/T.

there are no DOHC 4.0's. The OHV was introduced in (i think?) '94. The SOHC 4.0L was introduced in the 96 or 97 Explorer and were put in rangers starting in 01.

Do you have the suicide doors in the back or not? I'm gonna guess you do.

just wondering if anyone has tried any other color on the headlight mod?

I'm considering matching the blue of my truck in the headlight.

hoods

i drive a stock 94 ranger but i really like the hood designs of the 98 and newer rangers. i was wondering if these hoods would bolt right up or if there were any minor modifications i could make to get one on

For some reason it looks like the images in a lot of the How-To's don't show up anymore. I assume because the original pictures were moved from the original location where they were linked to.

Are we able to attach the pictures to the posts instead of link them to photobucket or wherever they were hosted?

Yes, thats actually something we've been doing for a lot of the newer ones. Unfortunately the ones that are missing pictures are lost forever.

just make sure its legal to do so. I know in certain states and provinces colored headlights are illegal.

that and staring down a set of bright pink headlights SUCK (not saying that you drive a pink truck, simply venting about the lights i had to look at last night on the way home)

The color of the headlight wouldn't effect the light output at all. You don't paint the reflectors themselves, just the paint around them. The pink headlights were probably 30000k HIDs
