Well, I began my OHC install today.
I picked it up for thirty bucks...1 of 2 that didn't have the sunroof button. It was tan so i had to sand paint it. The first can of paint i bought sucked it came out chrome so I had to sand it all off and i exchanged it for duplicolor, which came out wayyyy better. The cut in my headliner isn't the best but you won't be able to tell at all once the thing is installed...i already test fitted it before painting. Anyways, here are a few pics. No rubberized interior, sorry.

You can see the black spot at the front left of the headliner where i cut....that was from the dremel...the sparks set it on fire LOL! it was pretty funny


Hard to tell but this is my radio taken out for some reason the flash didn't go off and im too lazy to go back out and take another shot LOL


Paint..tape is still everywhere cuz i want to put a few more coats on

too bad you couldnt find one that was already gray. Mine matched my interior perfectly

 

Dang bro. Use Krylon fusion plastic paint on it. thats what I did. Mine WAS grey! Now its black! PICKY:

 

the flash makes it look weird but it matches interior pretty well. Jeweler, ill paint it black if i get a set of black fx4 seats with the matching console sometime this summer lol

and i tried finding a gray one but both of the ones that DIDN'T have the sunroof button were tan. i didn't want one with a useless sunroof button lol

EDIT: Ok I hate you Ben I want to paint it black LOL. Ill be going to home depot bright and early tomorrow morning to pick up some of the krylon!

**** i didn't check if that fx4 headliner i found was in good shape. Im def going to black out my plastic panels if the liner is black.

 

why didnt you tape up the buttons when you painted it?

looks sick though. i wish i had the motivation to paint mine black. lol....

 

looks like he taped them...i still see it says open and lamp and stuff on the buttons...

 

over spray... look close at the buttons. and the "open" button looks as if the letters were the only thing taped off.

 

Yea its just the glare. I actually didn't tape it at all. I took it apart and painted it. much better outcome IMO
