Beyond the TB

Just got done cleaning the MAF sensor, TB, IAC, and beyond the TB. I cant believe the gunk that was in there and it still ran fine. Got all the gunk out and heres a pic of what was beyond the TB after I took it off. Should I seafoam next? Truck has 40k on it.

Oh geeze. Takeda is going to say you need to switch back to the paper filter because all that is from the K&N. Just wait for it.

Also I hope you didn't wipe all that crud into your engine. I don't wipe with the throttle open so I don't get lint in the cylinders.

It's kinda weird to have all that gunk in there. The MAF sensor was clean as new but I cleaned it because I had everything all apart. So if the K&N caused this than the MAF sensor should of been caked as well so I don't think the K&N had anything to do with the gunk buildup.

Yeah but he always will blame the K&N. I'm sure it's just oil mist from the crank case. I want to add a catch can to keep the crud from building up.

Its a canister that goes in line on the hose that goes to the intake. It traps the oil mist from the crankcase gasses so it doesn't end up in your intake. Then you just drain it when its full.

Thanks... I'll have to check into that. You got a part number on that or a link to getting one?

No links ready. Just don't buy the cheap ebay stuff because that could harm your engine since the ports are sometimes way too small and they don't let the crankcase gasses flow. I think Moroso make a few. There are two kinds, one that vents it to the atmosphere and one that routes it back into the intake. I'm going to use the one that routes it back into the intake so it doesn't fail emissions.

WOW, I'm impressed, you do have the ability to learn!!!

Ok, seriously, if your PCV valve isn't working properly, you will get blow-by
from the crankcase fresh air intake. I would check your PCV valve.

The only thing I learned from you is that any thread with intake in it anywhere you will be sure to leave a comment about how K&N sucks somehow.

Oh and 05Edge-04GT's. I told ya.
