brushguard or no brushguard?

I am debating on whether or not to sell my brushguard and with that money get some soft 8 wheels and spindle lift...i like the look of the brushguard, makes it look tough, however i also like the clean look of no guard, but with 3 lights on a custom bar i made...help me decide on what i should do, lose the guard get the lift, or keep the guard and save for the lift and wheels?? really the only thing the guard does is look good, it really provides no protection and limits what lil offroading i can do b/c if i hit something i worry about tearing something up like a valence...

i just almost think the brushguard it too "big" for the ranger...i love the look of fullsizes with em, but it makes the ranger look smaller i think...it's wierd one day i look at it and love it, the next day i wanna get rid of it, i was just wondering what some other people thought...

only pic i have with the guard...

with the lightbar without the valence (i'm gonna have the valence on tho)

Black wheels = looks cheap

The black steelies are hard to balance/keep balanced from what everyone says. Remember, you get what you pay for.

Man I'm running the 4WP Xtreme black steel wheels on mine and it does fine. They're 15X8's with BFG 33X12.50 Mud Terrains on them.

Balanced just fine the day I bought them, been doing fine ever since.

I like the look of the wheels...don't know if plain old black wheels make it look cheap, but I'm more of a function over form kind of person. To each his own I suppose...heck I didn't even put the center caps on.

For only $42 a piece, you can't beat them. Plus, last thing I would want to do is take my pretty bling blinging rims offroad and tear the crap out of them.

Good luck with your decision! You're not having second thoughts about selling that guard are you?

I was looking forward to taking that off your hands!!

Like L2en said "you get what you pay for" Im one of them...I bought chrome crager soft 8's and they are a pain in the **** to balance....it all depends on when your rim was made and if it was made correct or not, i have a crap load of weights on my rims...

Anyways, I like my brush guard but i wish i could sell it, im trying to sell all the aftermarket stuff on my truck...

But noone is instersted in buying brush guards on here...

they are not that much harder to balance and part of it is the tires may not be perfectly balanced espically in larger sizes... if you get rock crwalers (i have them and im never gonna get anything else) go to PTL auto and tire in huffman (you are the guy from pinson right?) to have them mounted... as far as the brush guard goes i really like the way it looks with the 3 lights on the bar you made so i vote to sell the brushguard

Sounds good man...I was just giving you a hard time!

If you're interested, I can try to snap a pic of my truck tonight with the wheels and tires and I'll send it to you. It's a white Supercab, but I suppose it'll give you an idea of maybe what they'd look like.

Cool man..will do. I'll try to get some this afternoon when I get home from work. Shoot me your email address and I'll send them your way.

No big deal on the pictures. As long as the guard is in good shape (no dents/scratches/broken pieces) I'm good with it. Sounds like it's almost brand new anyways. Just shoot me a PM regarding my offer that I sent you in that last PM.

Thanks.
