Joe, Bill, Ed, etc. I will be going back but I'd like for my truck to be a bit more trail friendly, and not have to worry about damages so much like I did last year. You have seen my truck, it's height, as well as it's capabilities. I need to know what I could do to it before my next visit.

Keep in mind funds are not illimited, meaning I might still have the same AT's. I was thinking sliders, bigger front skid plate than the stock one, and BL should be plenty. Depending on funds I might throw some 32x11.5 KM2s on my 15x7's I just got, but chances are slim.

I know tires are the best bet, but I honestly can't afford them right now.

 

if you going with a bl get 33s tbar crank and shackles you will have plenty of room. sliders would be a bonus.


check out craigslist for tires sometimes you find a great deal on tires.

Its what your vehicle has on it, as well as what you can do behind the wheel. I would love to come to one of these I just got a 1354m and 32 bfg at's. Also some new rancho shocks.

 

Dirving skills I have, but when you have off camber **** with a 5 foot rock on the side, you dont understand until you go there

 

The body lift and a set of sliders would be the first thing I did. You were catching your rockers on a couple of the rocks so they would both help prevent that again.

Your main problem is going to be the IFS suspension. You could get rid of the sway bars (front and rear) to get some more flex out of the truck. Joe doesn't have them on his and daily drives it so I don't think it is a big problem with your suspensions. My sway bars have been gone for over a year but I have the TTB suspension so I can't say for sure how the IFS would handle.

And I will definately say you have some pretty good driving skills. I wouldn't have taken a stock truck where you did.

Tires are going to be a big thing though. They will raise your control arms higher off the ground so you won't have to worry about having them catch a rock. If it comes down to it I can bring a set of 32X10.50 Super Swampers next time you are there and you can try them if you want. I've never run them so I can't say how well they would do. I also didn't pay anything for them so I don't care if anything happens to them.

 

Sliders would be a first. Did you have any dammage from your last trip. I "reshaped" my front crossmember during the short time i was there.

Yea what every you can afford to get a taller tire. And sliders.

A taller tire will get you on the blues easier. Even 32/33 AT's will get you on the trails.

 

If I were to remove the sway bars I would need limiting straps, I have no idea where to get those around my area. But I like the idea, I don't think I have a rear sway bar though lol.

As far as tires go, I have 32's right now, bu they actually mesure like 30.5 or 31 lol Stupid Motomaster.. Are the Swampers on rims? It might help me out if I decide to try milkshake and all those more muddy area's. Although I am more focused on ground clearance, since I didn't spin at all with my current tires aired down to 18psi. If I get to sell the rims, winch and my motocross boots, I'll have 1000$ to play around with. Maybe I could buy a BL with my 2nd job, maybe sliders with that too. And the 1000$ for coilovers lol

Just on my rocker panels, came off a little drop, tire slide off the muddy rock, and the bottom driver side cab hit the rock. Only a couple dents that you can barely see lol


Who lives the closest to RC? I'm thinking of being there a day early, we get a little meet happening and we install and weld everyting haha

 

Yeah the Swampers are on rims. I definitely think you should do something to get bigger tires.

If Joe would get in here he could confirm this but I think he broke a limiting strap and has been running without them lately.

 

So that means I need to get fast money..... the corner isn't that far away lol

Yeah I made up my mind, getting the BL first, soon hopefully, someone wants to buy 130$ worth of my old dirtbike stuff. Then it's sliders. If I don't get enough money for tires before I leave it's not too bad, but I'd really like to try to be coilover so my drop brackets don't always interfere.
