you can have some fun with a 2wd... but you wont get as far as a 4wd will

like everyone else said, good tires, VERY good recovery points, a good strap or 2, a locker and a winch if you just happen to have some extra cash laying around

Heres all my stucks...

JUST FYI, every thing that I got stuck in (besides the lake incident), kevooo's 4x4 superlift/bodylifed fx4 on 35's went through...wtih ease. It is so pointless IMO to wheel my truck, it goes almost nowhere compared to 4x4

do yourself a favor and get a real built wheelin truck. You can pick up someones old wheeling truck (they want to upgrade) for cheap.

Heck even 034x4 (jay) is selling his truck, look in the member classifieds

Really? Man mine was really good with 175k miles on it. I could floor it around a corner and the truck would drift around the corner. If I did a burnout both tires left identical marks. With one tire off the ground I could still move if I worked the gas right.

The Powertax no-slip can be bought for a limited slip housing if you have the 8.8, not sure about the 7.5 though.

ford 8.8 with limited slip

When i take off straight it will burn both tires but as soon as I steer and one of the tires has less weight it will one tire fire it.

I almost bought a Powertrax from a member here but he told me I need an open carrier. Besides, I would rather have a selectable locker.

autotrader.com is the best IMO

if you want a nice DD that you can mud pretty well I hate to say it, but look at jeeps and 4x4 4.0 rangers

I would try to get something already lifted to cut on costs...but I'm not sure if you want to do that. Where are you located (zip code)? i'll do a search and help you out

32205 is my zip but on the already lifted note i dont want to buy something lifted because if its been lifted and there selling it there's probably issues.. and at my new job i can have coworker put my lift on for free so id rather learn and not buy someones lifted truck... kinda scared to buy prelifted if you know what i mean

i suppose i check auto trader not much one 4x4 red ranger v6 but i really wanna stick with a Manuel transmission.. it makes driving the smaller engined cars fun to drive an autos no fun unless your like 300+ hp [like my moms lexus] :P unless of course you've got it rigged with big tires and a lift :P

I prefer a manual, but the tow rating is a lot lower, and it's a lot harder to control off road in some situations IMO. Like rolling back down just an inch can make a difference of being stuck or not...and it's happened to me.........

The question I am curious about is, do you think a stock 4x4 with all terrain tires can mud better than a lifted 2wd with mud terrains?
