Give me an Estimate

Heya folks, some of you might remember me from ages ago, but as life goes, I had to devote more time/money to my college career (read: computer games and beer) so I haven't done anything to the truck to speak of in a long while. In fact, I think its time for me to move on. I am eyeballing some SUV's and they are looking a little more practical than a lifted 5-speed truck. I need you guy's help in estimating the value of my baby so I can list it in the paper for a decent price. My own guess is to list it for 12,000 and take anything up from 10.5.

The truck is a 2002 2wd Edge with 45,000 miles. It's a 5-speed and it has no power anything. The mods on the otherhand are quite overwhelming. Here is a link to them and their values. Click me. I will post some pictures soon. The truck is in pretty good shape and the engine was rebuilt by the dealer about 7k miles ago due to it being a little too thirsty (locked up) so that should make people happy. Let me know if you need any other info or if you just think i'm crazy and should shut up.

Thanks!

well your not going ot see any money for labor or light bulbs that you put in.
the 4:10 gear. most people dont no the difference.
the 33's will raise the value a little
wont see much more $ because of tint
side step bars is no different
programmer will up the value
i would say no start at $11.
it sounds like a very nice truck, but you will never get what you put into it, thats just how it works.

looks like a very nice truck IMO

I know I won't get close to the 5k I put into it out, but I just wanted to write up a sheet to just show what all was done to it that I could show potential buyers, goodness knows I could never remember that if I was asked, i'd rather just show a sheet of paper.

Edit: it is a 3.0

You can price it out on Nadaguides.com, edmunds.com, and kbb.com. And take an average of all three.

If the price guides don'a have a clasification for them then a dealer won't even acknowledge the exist unless it is something obvious like a LCD screen or leather seats. Butt hey won't concider silverstars an upgrade as the truck needs bulbs.

If you want to sell it private party then put it up for what you think is fair and start taking offers.

If you want to get the most for the additions you made then you will need to take them off and sell them separately.

Ha, I am not going to trade her in. The dealers have offered me 6,800 and 8,500. I'm sorry, but I just wont sell this truck for under 10k. I don't think thats asking too much as private party value is much higher than the dealer trade in value.

Edit: Edmunds says its worth 9,600 private and KBB says 9,900 so I don't think 11 would be a bad price to ask.

That or a ignorant woman who wants to buy her 16 year old a good truck for their birthday and whom doesn't care about spending some money for a truck already built up.

If the '02 is a 4x4, 4.0, fully loaded, ORP then it would be as much as an '02 2wd 3.0 that has no power options.

good luck getting more than 10K for it
and I would leave out the reason for the engine rebuild
shows that you were not careful and probably beat on the truck on more than one occasion
sorry but that is the truth and anyone buying a used truck or car will be concerned about how it was treated by the previous owner

If the dealer offered you 8500 for trade in take it and run. Sorry, but your truck really has nothing going for it. The fact that it's modified doesnt add a dime in value, and would probably detract it's value mre than anything. A lot of buyers dont like to buy modified vehicles. About six months ago I bought an 02 Edge SC 4x4 4.0/auto with everyoption availabe on an Edge with 29k miles for only a little over 12k. I would say you will never ger 10k for it and you are lucky if you get close to it. No offense intended just being realistic. If I were you I'd return it to stock and sell the mods then sell the truck.
