3.0 is just too dog **** slow, man. i have to drop it into 4th to climb any slight hill on the interstate. It gets a whole 16 mpg with mostly highway driving. Why? Where is the inefficiency at? 3 liters really needs that much gas to run? I may as well have a v8, at least i can run it in overdrive without slowing down.
you can put a s10 body on a camaro frame. Is there any such way to do this with a mustang and a ranger? a 4.6 like you find in the crown victoria would be a nice powerplant for these trucks. Remove the mustang body, put ford ranger cab on top of the frame. This truck NEEDS a v8

power of a 4cyl and MPG of a V8....it doesn;t get the nickname 3.slow for a reason. and a 4.6 will not fit, the only v8 that is a 'easy' swap is a 302 from the 95-01 explorer
