Hey folks,

My brother in law just sent me this link to a used 1996 3.0 Ford Ranger with 4WD and a regular cab and wanted to know what I thought about it. I'd buy it myself if I had the funds as I need a 4WD and high mileage is not really a big deal if the truck was taken care of. I just thought I'd throw it out here for more opinions.

I think for the year it is it's in decent shape and something has to be said about AC that still works in a vehicle with close to 200,000 miles, right? Having cruise and power windows/mirrors doesn't hurt either. Also, I've read quite a few negative comments about the 3.0 when compared to the 4.0. What's the story on that?

You should get this one and put an engine in it.

 

That's a steal even if it does need a new engine, but he's looking for a cheap 4WD pickup to drive right off the bat.
