Chrome Plated Wheels

Does anyone have chrome plated rims and run them in the winter in the salt belt? I remember the chrome bumpers years ago pitted very bad from the salt and don't want to put chrome rims on my new truck and have them pit in the winter. I do not want to do the two sets of wheels and tires thing each spring and fall.

Thanks

George
