cold air intake

Icon3 cold air intake

ok i have a 1996 ranger xlt v6 3l and i found this air intake which matches everything except it is for 1998 and newer models (http://www.4filters.com/Performance-..._p_5-1072.html) do u think i can put it on my 1996???

A pic of your engine bay would be nice. I think the issue is you have a round air box and the years listed are a square box. I would imagine the tube layout is the same, just a matter of bolting the heatshield onto the truck. It may bolt on. If not some el brackets from a hardware store should make it work.

your right about the round air box. i took it apart yesterday just to see it. but maybe i can remove it and just find a way to secure the square box on the side

I can't see the pics, but....The newer air kits use the holes that hold the stock air box to mount the new filter bracket. A creative person should be able to make it work after a trip to a hardware store.
