Airbag question

First off... Im old school. I've really only worked on classics and muscle cars.

I wrecked my ranger. Air bag deploid. I need to replace the driver side only. Is there anything else that I need to replace to get back to working condition for the airbag system. Also I dont want to install a new air bag and blow it up in my face. Any special procedures in the install process.

Did you have your passenger side air bag deactivated with the key switch? If so DO NOT TURN IT BACK ON! Usually once the air bag module deploys an air bag the module is done and any new air bag introduced to it will go off.

I think you just need to replace the drivers side air bag and the air back module (with one that hasn't been activated).

Someone else should confirm this before replacing them.
