Hey guys/gals,

I'm looking for some feedback. I'm considering pulling my Body Lift off of the truck. I've never been real happy with the way it fit my truck. I'm pretty sure that it was designed for the 98-00 Ranger's....

Before I do pull it, I wanna ask a few questions:

1.) How far do you have to crank the T-bars to fit 33's?

2.) If I pulled it, would anyone be interested in taking if off my hands?

3.) Any Kansas members wanna come help me pull it?

 

I did not touch my torsion bars and the BFG 33 MT fit just fine

 

33x12.50's...All the way.. and they are gonna rub...

33x10.50's.. well, neil got 33x10.50s with no crank at all

leave it but thats just me.. what are the issues you are having explain?

 

10.5 on 7 inch wheel is not going to rub. I had 33x12.5 on stock alcoas and it rubbed on the sway bar some, and did not have my tbars cranked all the way.

With the wheels and tires you have currently i am sure there will some rubbage.

 

there's a few issues :

brake lines laying out of brackets
35% of the tranny cooler is covered by lower grille
no recovery hooks on front

just to name a few


oh, and the BL is definitely coming off when i get my Superlift this spring

 

BAH thats nothing lol. i have had the BL on for 30k+ and no issues. You can buy a external trans cooler and "T" it into the one you have and you know about the hooks dude.

 

#1 you can rebend them easilly to go back in... no problem there...
#2 so move it.. make brackets, get a temp gauge i bet its not having problems at all...
#3 thats for ALL BODY LIFTS have the problem you have 4 choices

• cut the valance to expose the hooks
• take off the valance
• make custom hooks easy enough to do
• deal with it...

dude just leave the body lift on and do double lift with 35's its worth it.. seen beards marks and bills enough its bad ***...

that would all be fine and dandy if i had the money to keep dumping into it to keep it running...but i don't

when you double lift and run 35's you're more than doubling your chances of ruining the truck...

 

um not totaly.. your gonna need new balljoints in time and tie rods thats about the only thing that will major fail on you and its something thats going too. granted you need the SL drive shaft but you need that even with just the SL alone...

 

then you've also got your radiator hoses, a/c hoses, battery cable's, wiring harnesses, gas filler hoses, bumpers,

all of those things had to be modified or adjusted to put the body lift on...

don't get me wrong, i love the BL but it puts too much undue stress on the truck. In hindsight i should have saved and got the SL to begin with...

 

for the right price i may be interested

 

i'm thinkin roughly 150, since it's got less than 15k on it...but i'm open to offers

 

LOL its done when you do the body lift and after its done its fine and will work properly if done properly there is no undue stress on the truck cause of it.. besides being lifted which will happen either way with SL or BL... your truck isnt being hurt by the body lift as i type if everything is installed correctly hell we have installed enough of them to know...

 

if you want to whine about things getting moved after a superlift you have the whole lower control arms being dropped down causing "undue" stress on the front suspension. then there is the fact of lifting the rear end being either lift shackels which put the springs on more "undo" stress or lift blocks either way you are causing "undue" stress on the driveshaft u-joints by putting them at a more severe angle

to me this just seems like a whining about a body lift and not realizing there is "undue" stress as you put it on different parts of the truck when you do a superlift if you want to look at one angle lets attack it from all of it hell might as well put it back to stock dont want to hurt the truck....

i got mine for 150-160 brand new

 

thats the going price for the 98-00 the 01+ is $210 new...

 

he also said the bl on his truck is from a 98-00

 

no he says he is "pretty sure" he doesnt know..

 

hell just stop *****ing drive a stock truck problem solved.
