haha, back when they started making the fx4 packages, the first one I saw around here a guy had put a suspesion lift on it and big tires, I fell in love and told my mom and dad I will have one. 5 years later I bought one and I have had it for 2 years, bought it used in stcok form, since the omly major thing I had to do to it was replace the driver side hub assembly, and I do alot of off roading. It had 59,000 miles on it when I got it now it has 94,455, very pleased with it, I had alway's heard good things about the rangers like ,their tuff trucks, their hosse's. yeah every vehicle has it's up's and down's but that doesn't make them a bad vehicle. any way not to metion I paid 14,000 for it and the Tacoma I was thinking of buying was 20,000, I feel like I came out on top.

How much will the Mahindra pickup truck cost?

its gonna START in the low 20s. screw that. smaller than the ranger too. crew cab is probably more than an FX4

And I've owned only 2 Rangers for a total of 6 years - this one for 1 year and my other one for 5 years, and they have been the most trouble-free vehicles I've ever owned. Had my 4 VW's for a total of 6 years, and they were broken all the time.

Yeesh!! stoopid CR. They don't know squat. Uncomfortable seats WTF!! I drove over 450 miles yesterday. Over 10 some odd hours in one of those supposedly uncomfortable seats. It took 'til about hour 9 before my *** got even the slightest bit numb. Cabin too compact?!? The lovely lady I had the pleasure of spending those 450 miles with, was able to put the passenger seat back, curl up and take a nap no problem, and I have buckets fer christsake. As for loud? I call total BS on that too, my exwife's honda civic si was so loud it was like driving inside a jet engine. In my ranger I am able to carry on a normal volume conversation at freeway speeds on crappy pavement with no problems and I have rubber floors. Loud? Please...

ummm you guys must be on a different planet than me. In my city there are at least TWENTY times more Silverados/S-dimes/GMCs/Tacos/Rams/Colorados and even Frontiers than there are Rangers. There are quite a few 150's/Superduties too, but even they get outnumbered just by Silverados at least 4 to 1. I live in a city where a Silverado is a status symbol for "cool" and all other trucks are "not as cool", not even the f*cking Sierra. There are a TON of Ford haters here.
Seriously, central Cal has about 10 customized silverados/s-dimes per square mile and about 3 customized Rangers in this part of the state.

yeah around here there are more chevrolet's than anything else, but there are also alot of rangers, any way I feel sorry for the hard core chevy fan's around here, they bragged so long and swore by chevy only to have the company turn their backs on 'em some what. but one thing for sure they aren't affraid to tell me they like my truck and that it's the only Ford they would drive.

[QUOTE] Ford T6 [QUOTE]
Glad to see it will be sitting higher but it needs to be wider too. if you turn too fast in that thing it will roll faster than you can say poop!

Just to show it can go any-which-way.

In the first 13k miles / year of ownership my Ranger saw nine (9) unscheduled dealer visits. I had my clutch and slave cylinder replaced under warranty. I had a tie rod replaced under warranty. I had the entire t-case linkage assembly replaced under warranty, then repaired again. I had the t-case position indicator switch replaced under warranty.

Bought a brand new VW in April. I have laid 12k miles on it in 4 months without so much as a ****in' hickup.

Go figure.

Lemons happen in every car company.
I bought FX4 with all power locks/windows/mirrors/etc. and leather seats. The seats are comfortable, cabin is quiet. Rubber/vinyl floor is going to pay off BIG TIME come winter time in Canada. I wanted a cheap 4x4 with some perks and I got what I wanted. Small truck, fits everywhere, 6' bed is enough for my work. WTF is there to complain about?
True, 4.0L engine uses 14L/100km that is more than my 2005 toyota sienna (11L/100km) with 3.6L engine. I guess that's what you get when you buy a truck.
The only annoying thing so far is the fact I cant just use a fan without A/C kicking in. There should be a separate switch for that.
Before I bought my ranger I looked into this book:
Lemon-Aid 2008-09: SUVs, Vans, and Trucks: Amazon.ca: Phil Edmonston: Books
Nissan Frontier was recommended and Ranger/Mazda B-series was right after with 'Above Average' mark.
I don't know what Consumer Report people were smoking.

Compressor won't run when you set to "Vent" or "Floor"

I thought so, yet the air coming out of the vents is very cold. Tested with outside temp at 25 degC with humidity of 90%.
