Couple of bodylift questions.
Ok guys, tommorrow my bodylift is going on and i need to know a few things.
1.) Do you have to extend the fuel filler pipe and vent pipe?
2.) Is there anything else I need to extend.
The reason I am asking is because I bought the lift used from a guy on here and he bought it a long time ago and the directions are gone now.

i bet if you went to Performance Accessories website they would have the instructions....
All I did was this:
took out the bedliner, took out the bed bolts, lifted the bed, put new bolts in
unbolted steering bar, took out the cab bolts, lifted one side at a time and put the blocks in, drilled out the bolts on the front 2, put the bolts in. Lifted the bumpers...
Really easy, I didn't do a fuel neck extention, none of that stuff, i may need to later on, but I haven't yet, it still has a lot of play to it also.

if i can find mine, i'll sell it to ya cheap since i didnt use it. still dunno why i didnt have to...but yeah. lemme see if i can find my box of parts.
edit: i also have the gap gaurds. lol. i never put them on. let me know and i'll ship it all to ya for a few bucks.

also a couple of the little bracket/block? thingys are bent....the ones that are a hollow rectangle, i need to call PA and get a parts list and what goes where b/c the instructions didnt come with it used cuz its kinda old. but oh well hopefully the bent ones will work fine.
You still haven't got that thing on? I bought the spindles from that same guy and when I got them I realized no bolts or instructions were there. Just spindles and the ABS sensors. Had to go find some new bolts get some guys on here to help me with the install.
Yeah I would have had it on by now but I havent had anyone to help me, i work 44 hours a week, go to school parttime and my friends dont have off the times I do. So just now I've got my mechanic thats gonna help me. I hope this guy PMs me back so I can get it on, I'd hate to have to by this thing unless I can get it from texasbullseye89 for cheap. So he didnt get you all your parts either?

Victor (crazynedge) didn't run one. His truck was fine for the 3 mins before he rolled it
Id feel safer with it, Bob said that if you are offroading then it can mess up so he knows more about these things that I do so I'll just be careful and get the peice. How does it look without it...is the steering wheel further down?

Steering wheel always stays the same.
IIRC it deals with the steeering rack.

you didnt disconnect the brake lines from there frame clips? wow ballsy you might want to go back and look at those probly all screwed to hell now...and you didnt put on the parking brake relocator or the ground extention in the engine bay? sounds like a shotty install to me.. being he had done over 6+ and have never slacked that much and it only takes us 6 hours max when where acully working at it...

I never had my stock engine ground strap b/c I did the big 3 upgrade (there is a howto of mine floating around here).
The pbrake locator didn't seem like a problem to me, it's working fine, no tension, nothing wrong.
Brake lines were already disconnected from the spindle install, I had to or else I would have broken them, they had too much pressure on them.

This was not an amatuer install, I know my truck too well, and I read the instructions several times over, and all the posts here!
Make sure the steering wheel stays locked while the steering linkage is disconnected, and make sure that it's reconnected with the steering in the same position as when it was disconnected. The air bag clockspring will get out of center and break if you aren't carefull, it only has a set amount of turns it can go in each direction, failing to do so will result in an air bag warning light and a ruined clock spring.
(The clock spring is a sealed contact tape or ribbon mechanism that connects the air bag, steering wheel switches and horn button from the steering wheel to the collum, it's wound in a tight coil and winds only 3 or 4 turns each way, if it's not installed on center, or the collum has been allowed to turn with no means of stopping, it will overstretch the ribbon and break).
