Craziest Ranger Engine swap?

I am partial to CJ-7's. I don't like airbags and plastic. If I am going to get in a wreck, I want glass in my face and a tough metal dashboard to cut me off at the knees. I don't need no stinking airbag smackin me around and some soft dashboard with collapsable panels cushioning my sensitive knees so I don't break something. HELLSNO!

So, I'd have to find a desiel and transplant it into a CJ-7. More power, better gasmilage in what is essentially a large metal brick with a windsock attached to it.

Plus, Jeep Liberty's are for girls...no offense ladies.

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned my swap:

For those that can't read, or are oblivious to exotic cars, that's a Mercedes Benz engine that powers a McLaren F1
Why go with only 8 cylinders when you can have 6 liters of 12 cylinders!!!???

I mentioned the best mercedes engine.

Mercedes-AMG has taken a completely new departure: the new AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine is the first in the world to combine the high-revving concept with a large displacement. Developed entirely by AMG, this high-performance engine has a displacement of 6.3 liters and generates an output of 510 bhp at 6,800 rpm, plus a maximum torque of 465 lb-ft, which makes the new power pack by AMG the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated eight-cylinder production engine.

Displacement 6,208 cc (383 cu in)
Bore/stroke 102.2/94.6 mm
Compression ratio 11.3 : 1
Output 510 bhp at 6,800 rpm
Max. torque 465 lb-ft at 5,200 rpm

BTW, the McLaren engine IS a BMW engine, otherwise it wouldnt say BMW Mpower on the front of the valve cover. and the McLaren engine is more powerful than the AMG mercedes engine, its just that the AMG is the most powerful V8 engine in a car. the McLaren is a V12...

I'd prefer a V8.

And you and Bryce both win a free "punch Aaron" ticket good for one punch anywhere but the gonads.

guy on pirate is putting a diesel in a ranger.
also on pirate guy bought a rubicon, drove it straight to the back of the service dept, had the 4.0 pulled for the diesel out of a liberty. all in all he prob spent 35-40k just at the dealer.

Quote: there is a ranger with a s2000 motor in it.
I thought it was a Mazda? I know theres a Toyota Sprinter coupe that has an s2k in it.

I've seen a video of a 4 rotor Rx7 running nines, sounds like a street bike on crack.

Or an Rx7 with a Mustang 5.0 swapped in.

Oh and a popular swap among the DeLorean crowd? A Lotus twin turbo v8 wedged in the back, oh man Ive seen it and I like it.

Or this.

1992-1993 Honda Accord EX

Those Simpson Racing belts are just there for looks...

Stock interior with Racing Gauges and roll bars.

Yeah it is, and it was built in 2002 and the owner tried like mad to sell it on ebay. Heard it never ran right though which sucks.

All that work and no play.

only engine i would put in mine besides another 4.0 is the Cummins ISA 4cly twin turbo. its a real nice setup, small 300hp, crazy torque, ive seen them in several jeeps, im sure it would fit too. only issue is weight so the one thing that would have to be done is SFA.

Or t-bars from a v-8 x-ploder or even 150 t-bars....but it would give you a super good excuse to SAS it....d60's all the way around!

I know that they are longer, but all youd have to do is move the mount back, im not sure about the diameter of the LCA end though....But for the chassis part just get the whole t-bar and rear mount.

Kinda like ur turbodiesel swap. I'm pretty sure I've never lost in a race against any diesel truck with my 3.0

Course none of them were built, but neither was my 3.0.

A diesel i'd get for the looks and the gas mileage. Are you sure the frame is going to be able to even withstand that torque?

Remember Zach....diesels up in Alaska have been there since the last gold rush...and aaron has stock wheels...which makes a big difference over you and I(well not so much you any more since you have the 4.56's....basterd...) and Im sure that the diesel guys aaron was "racing" were unaware that they were in fact "racing"....besides they probably had loaded down 53' trailers behind them....
