Crazy fuel leak

so after finding out the hard way that my truck leaks fuel, in a pretty bad way, i crawled under the rig and found where the leak is. Problem is i can't seem to find anywhere what this thing is called. Its a black canister between the fuel pump and the filter 2 lines in, 2 lines out. can anyone help? It's an 87 ranger 2.9. Thanks a bunch!

This link will explain its function completely: http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=95

Read it all, it gives you options to consider. Lines, barb fittings, clamps, you could get off cheap if you get creative.
