degreased my engine today :)

So the 3.0 was getting really dirty, the previous owner had it since new (1999) and never got an engine shampoo or anything
I don't have any before pictures :(

anyways I coated it with some heavy duty foaming degreaser, scrubbed a bit, pressure washed and BAM!

I wash mine everytime I wash the exterior. I changed spark plugs and didn't get dirty.

Dont pressure wash it. I just use my garden hose at my house. It works great.

Alright here's a couple things I did while doing it.
-keep a bucket of water w/dishsoap, and with rag/cloth polish the black parts and the wires wires.
-do the actually foaming degrease 2x
-light pressure wash and make sure COVER ALL VITALS WITH TINFOIL!
:)

Hmm...never tried tin foil, great idea.

I need to do this next time I wash my car, getting a little crusty in there as I have not been to many shows this year.

ya, tinfoil works the best because you can wrap it around everything because it molds nicely

What do you actually need to wrap? I can't think of a single thing in the engine bay that is going to get messed up by water. I say this because whenever i clean the engine bay i cover nothing and give it an hour to dry. If you get an engine detail I heard it's just degreaser and a hot water pressure washer.

I used to detail cars and I just sprayed degreaser, let it soke, and spray it off with cold pressure washer. The only car I ever had trouble with was a Volvo wagon. But just let it sit overnight and it started right back up.

you want to protect seals, not so much other parts... pressure washing can ruin seals

I pressure wash everything, there is only a few seals on the front that you can't hit with the high psi water directly anyway
