What's the difference between the Edge and the Edge Plus models? i have an 01 edge.. and wanted to look up trade in value on edmunds.com, and they have under models, Edge, and Edge plus.. with different cabs and beds, etc...

i was just curious to know whats the difference.. i'm assumming mine's just an Edge.

 

edge plus from what i grather got the nicer wheels. and keyless entry and power locks and the nice steor all that jazz and i "think" it came as a 4.0L but dont quote me on all this lol

 

hmm.. well, i got keyless entry, and power everything, and the 6 disc indash thing, and the 4.0sohc, but, no fancy wheels, lol... in my opinion, none of the ford wheels used on these trucks were nice though.

any idea where i might be able to find out if mine is an edge or edge plus (like on a door jamb or in the VIN number or something)??? they're apparently worth another couple hundred dollars, which can only help, lol.

Well the newer ones i know come standard with four doors and stuff...but I have a 2003 Edge Plus Extended cab but is only two doors, I have a 3.0 Liter but have the 6cd with keyless entry and two-tone premium cloth...but to find out if it is or not...ummmm im not for sure...u might be about to go to one of those sites that u can type in the vin number and it will tell u...

Is there that much difference between prices???

 

I believe the EDGE Plus package just has all the electronics. Cuz i have a 03 w/ power everything, but only a 3.0 and 2 doors. So that would mean power locks, windows, keyless entry, and i would assume the Mach stereo system.

 

mine is a edge plus and i think it included the 6 disk cd changer and the nicer wheels...i dont have any power options

 

I had an Edge plus with CD6 and teardrop wheels and power nothing.

The 2003 brochure says that Edge Plus Package consists of white letter A/T tires, machined aluminum wheels and a 6-disc indash AM/FM/CD.

well on my widow sticker it said mine is the edge plus i have the split 5 point wheels a 3.0 with the auto the power group and the 6disk indash.

 

My '02 Edge Plus had power everything, keyless, alarm, 6CD indash, and a full console/armrest in the center. The center console had a place in it to store CD's and crap, and then an armrest flipped down, had a change holder plus 2 drink holders in addition to the drink holders in the tray up front and the 2 in the back (a grand total of 6 for those of you keeping score at home). It also had the 4.0 and was 4x4, with upgraded rims and 4 doors.

 

Bob you wouldn't happen to know about the 2001's would you? i have all of the same options as everyone is stating (but with the 4.0sohc), but, i have the teardrops instead (which i thought were a step up from those other edge wheels, but i guess not).

and bmb005, to answer the question about price.. i put in both the edge and edge plus to see the difference, and there was something like a 300 dollar difference.

 

I think it's the same but I don't have a brochure from 2001. One odd thing is that the 2003 brochure that I have only lists the Edge Plus Package for 4x2 Edges but I know for a fact that there are 4x4 Edge Plus Rangers as well. The special split spoke EP wheels shown in the Ford literature are 15" only but the 4x4 Edges use 16" only - that probably explains the 16" teardrops on yours.

Reading through the posts above brings up another point. It is important to remember that it is possible to have other standalone options that are separate from the Edge Plus Package. So, a truck with the EPP may have the Power Equipment Group or not, regular cab or supercab, a bench seat or buckets, a 4.0L or a 3.0L and still be an Edge Plus.

 

I have the Edge plus package. I've noticed i have different rims than everyone and im a 2001.

 

i have an '01 edge plus, ext. cab, 4x4, 4.0L, power everything, vinyl floor, them "water resistant" seats, teardrop wheels

its kinda like the xlt package.. that is just carpet.. chrome bumper. and.... I forget.(maybe tilt steering?)
All the other stuff is totally seperate.
Mine is a 4x4 xlt which is susposed to be the more "plush" package
but I have no power windows or locks.. and the single mp3 mach radio

 

My 04 is an Edge Plus...

6 disc changer (290 watt one, not the tremor one), full center console (sub inside) with buckets (two tone cloth), power W/L, machined aluminum 5 spoke wheels w/RWL badyears, 4.10LS, and 3.0.

 

That must of been a 2001 package because I never remember seeing a 2002 or 2003 with those options like us.

I have a 202 Edge Supercab 4x4 edge plus and have the window sticker that came with my truck I believe the only difference is plus "reading from the paper" lol, comes with 6 disc and speed control/tilt STRG WHL

Wheels, Alum 5-spoke 16'
4.10 ratio limited slip axle which is a $295.00 option
only thing I can see on the window sticker mine came with

 

well I think I have a 01 Edge Plus, It's a 4dr super cab, 4X4, 4.0 SOHC, with 4.10 LS, 5 spd Auto, Power everything, 6 cd stero, aluminum 16" wheels, sliding rear glass, two tone interior, Factory towing package, but it has a rubber mat instead of Carpet, it has the factory running boards.
