I am wanting to change my differential fluid in my 98 ranger. I have always had the benefit of having drain plugs until I got this Ranger. What is the best gaskets to use Fel-Pro solid gaskets or silicone.

 

Black RTV. No need for a gasket.

 

Just curious to know why you use ATV over a Fel-Pro Gasket. The gasket is easier to install and no mess. This is the first time that I have had to pull the plate all my other vehicles had a drain plug. Do the gaskets tend to leak.
