Do ya'll wave?

Just read this article on CarDomian that got me to chuckling because I've done this a thousand time...lol

http://blog.cardomain.com/2010/07/14...wave/#comments

I know that when I meet a Ranger on the road or pull up to one at a stoplight, I always throw up my index finger (my wave....lol, i dont wave like a ***). So how many if ya'l wave or make a gesture when you see another fellow Ranger owner on the road.

I mean I dont do this ALL the time, mostly when I see a Ranger that has been midly modded or something because you can tell he/she cares about the truck or is nto Rangers. Or Ill throw a wave when I see somone checking out my truck (cause its so sexy with its new wheels!).

I also have a bad habit of parking beside a Ranger in a parking lot if I see one. Sara picks on me about it.

What about ya'll? do ya'll do any of this?

I'm the same way, I'll wave or nod at modded Ranger drivers, and when I drive my 77 I always wave at other 73-79 Ford drivers I see.

Nope, never wave unless its someone I know, or they wave at me first.

With the F250, when I pass another modded diesel I'll puff a little puff of black smoke. Usually they do the same. Its the diesel version of the biker wave.

Every now and then though you catch the jackass who gets off on truck smoke and thinks that the more smoke you can make the more masculine you are, and he blacks the streets out because he thinks his Cummins is God's gift to trucks. [/rant]

I think a puff is much different than mass amounts. I mean.. I followed one guy, once he saw me pull out behind him, for 7 miles, almost every 100 yards he'd roll coal.... truck pull amounts of smoke, not just a little puff or haze. Him rolling giant clouds like that is stupid.

A quick little puff is different thank "blacking the streets out".

Oh believe me, I made sure to pass him. The first clear section of road there was, I leaned into it. By the time I was out around him I was cruisin or I would have had my finger out the window at him. By that time, my charger was lit and I don't have the fuel to "black the streets out" at 35psi+ of boost. I got it slowed back down to the speed limit and kept going.

I saw him turn off a few miles later, into a little grocery store. I was really tempted to go back and give him an earful. Blacking the streets out is a great way to make people dislike diesels even more. There is a time and a place for that kind of stuff, like a truck pull or drag strip.

I dont want to hijack your thread into a discussion about diesel smoke though. Sorry for the derail

I shoot R-F t-shirts into their open windows, or the back of their trucks.

My friends with jeeps sometimes wave. sometimes.

I'd never wave to other ranger drivers. WAy too many to waste my time and i dont really care. People roll down their windows and ask about my tires or compliment my truck all the time. Which is funny because im a pretty shy person

Eh, well same thing just some go overboard.
It pisses me off because so many asshats here run smoke tunes and literally black out every intersection. I've had several cummins douche bags lay huge clouds of smoke on me over and over again when I'm just cruising at 60. They will drop down to 45mph until I get close, then stomp on it and black everything out, and repeat like f-cking homos. Like you said it just makes everyone look bad and makes people hate diesels. No wonder the diesel market here blows and emissions are getting so strict on them.

And to keep it on topic (sort of haha), no I don't wave. When I had the ranger, I would wave back if another modified ranger driver waved at me first.

Exactly! I mean, its not just Cummins owners, there are idiots owning all brands, but Cummins has the large majority.

That crap is stupid. Just because their truck smokes they think they need to run around blacking streets out. That's stupid, unsafe, and very unhealthy. There are a lot of ignorant owners out there just as there are will all makes and models, but with diesels they can make em smoke

The 5.9 is a good engine, but it is NOT God's gift to trucks. There are plenty of other great running, reliable engines out there. My 7.3L is just one example.
