stock..I believe 16-18 city/hwy

after intake/exhuast/programmer, you can see 20 hwy, depending on tire size.

To be honest, it depends on what tires, if your towing, city/hwy, how heavy you are on the pedal...but most of my buddies who have diesels are mid 20's hwy and 16-18 city. I have 2 friends that are on 37's and they actually get better milage than the other guy I am friends with on 35's...it lowers the gear ratio with 37's so it's lower rpms.

but mpg's also depend on the year and motor...i got a couple buddies that are big into diesels and what i've heard and they told me the new super duties suck...there only gettin around 10 to 15 totally stock due to the restricted exhaust and no smoke setup they got going on...from what he's told me the exhuast on them will collect the unburned fuel in a filter when the filter gets full it will then heat the filter up to burn the fuel away...only way for the truck to this is to give the motor more fuel to heat it up and burn that unburnt fuel...long and confusing i know

very true there too

my buddies truck rolls the coal...but he also pushes alot of power...and remember more hp dosen't always mean less mpg's so boost that diesel....just remember if you start building it more then it already is...find out if your head is built...if it ain't pop goes that head

the 6.0 is usually only good for 28-32. I built one with a buddy for 36lbs and he blew the head gasket. The head walks around and loosens the head bolts...it's pretty insane. He had coolant in his oil....needed a few dollars in repair

I'm about to get a diesel when I get out of school. I'm going to the real diesel=cummins.

^^true dat homie. I'd rather be cummin' than strokin'.

In regards to mileage of a stroker, it depends on what stroker? original question was "F250 powerstroke". You're talking 4 different engines from 94.5 to current.

Heck yea thats where its at...CUMMINS....you know what great about a cummins...cheap power....get yourself a chip, injectors, build the head, get edge jammer nozels, exhuast, bigger turbo...and you got one mean machine..and you can shave your fuel plate to get more fuel...if you want real cheap power get a 12 valve...you won't need that chip...

Exactly!

cummins is a real motor. I can't stand ford 6.0, 7.3, or 6.4...I think they are over-rated, slow, and poor design. But at the same time...I'd still drive one over my ranger any day. I just want a cummins over a sroker. PLUS...a cummins is a lot cheaper

I'm a big cummins fan as well, but you get the correct 7.3 and its nice! The 6.0s are not bad either but i love the cummins sound.

Only Powerstroke I would ever drive is a 7.3. The 6.0's IMO suck, as do the 6.4's. On some other website theres people with trucks that have 6.0's and they are swapping in a 7.3 instead. IMO there is no perfect diesel truck, Ford has the best truck itself, Dodge the best engine with the Cummins, and Chevy the best transmission with Allison.

Doesn't ford own a 10% share of Cummins? Ford puts some cummins in their big trucks, our rollback at work had one.

Allison is a good transmission...but if you build your truck it won't last...so you then gotta send your allison transmission out to get built as well and thats somewhere around 7 grand....thats why you always try to get a 5 or 6 speed...the only thing you gotta do is get a good clutch...my buddie uses the southbend...he's got the bigest single they make....

You do know that the Powerstrokes are 1,200 LBS heavier than the Duramax's and even heavier than the Cummins, right?

I wouldn't call them slow...

If you hop in a powerstroke...drive it, mash the pedal.

Then hop in a cummins...drive it, mash the pedal.

You'll see what I'm talking about. Cummins has way more "seat of the pants" torque and gets up a lot faster. It doesn't matter which is heavier...it's the performance and towing, thats what a diesel is for as far as I understood.
