Congrats! I looked at the Yota's, but while their engines go forever, the body's love to rust out and go by the wayside, even here in colorado where nothing rusts. Part of the reason i didnt go with it.

this truck is mint, unfortunately the dealer has a lot of things to do, so they said it might take an extra day or two, they have of course, check everything over, and detail it. i am real excited, i did however get one picture, but it came out crappy. lol. taking pictures was the last thing on my mind.

specs:
2002 toyota tacoma trd package v6 5sp. its like a dull red, extended cab.

i deffinitely need to get some rims for this thing. i have some plans for it.

awesome, and congratulations

how does it ride compared to the ranger? how's the power and how's the feedback on that DOHC V6?

btw, I don't hate you (read my sig. to see my future with a ranger) and you def. need to post pics!

just got it tonight, sorry no pics yet. i put 61 mies on it tonight, and i love it. its pretty quick, and handles beautifuly. just the feeling you get from the truck while driving it, it feels very solid and built well.

any questions just ask.

p.s any one know any other toyota tacoma forums, i checked out that other one and it didnt seem like there were very many active members there.

also anyone know where i can get h.i.d light kit for it? and wut does this kit include?

thanks
mike

did you get the V6?

if so, I understand it's a DOHC engine, so it only really makes torque at higher rpm's

the 3.0 ranger, otoh, is a pushrod that makes generous midrange torque

how do the engine's compare? does the toyota still drive like it has torque even though it makes it up high?

I also read that the toyota's suspension is soft: seeing that every truck handles like ***, how is it (softer, harder, more like a car, or more like a boat) compared to the ranger?

and how's the interior?

I have a '91 reg cab and while the interior's in good shape and it is an old truck, it doesn't feel like polished, well-designed ergonomics

hey guys, sorry i havent been on in a while.

little update, the ranger is goin tomorrow. just gave my dad a 500 dollar deposit tonight, and hes comin to get it at 9 30 tomorrow morning. ill be in school.

also to answer ur question bahvesh, yes it is a 6 cylinder, and hands down this truck will spank the crap out of my 3.0 ranger. not to long ago i raced my dads workers 98 tacoma lifted with 33's and he beat me by about 2 truck lengths, with 150 k with a slipping clutch. but handling wise, this truck is very *** end light, i thought the ranger was bad, this thing is very light all around, the ranger took bumps a little bit better, although the tacoma is a lot smoother through the turns i liked the way the ranger felt better going through sharp turns. also, the interior is beautiful, its extended cab, big jump from a single cab(if u ever have the oppurtunity to get extended cab DO IT) its a big difference, and i love it.

anyways, any more questions, feel free to ask.

and sorry i did not get pictures, but soon very soon i will.

Nice trucks! Although it seems everyone here has one. I personally like the nissan Frontier alot but I think my next truck will either be a Lightning or wait to see the new ranger if they up it. Tacos are fast, they make a good race! Havent had a chance to line up with a frontier yet, I look forward to it!
