E Brake Help.
E Brake Help.
I have a 2000 Ford Ranger I just did the rear brakes on. I got the kit from Auto Zone, including new cylinders, and parking brake cables.
I got everything back together and was ready attach the last cable (where both brake cables intersect and meet the intermediate cable. Only there is 2"-3" gap between where the rear intersects with the intermediate cable.
Anyone have any idea's what might cause this? Is there a way to adjust the cable length up at the e-brake pedal? Do I have to find some sort of adjustment adapter to lengthen the intermediate cable a bit?
Thanks for any info,
Doug

yup, I checked to make sure the pedal was up all the way. I was thinking the same about stretching it......But it seems as though that would engage the e-brake. Though maybe this is normal to get the correct base pressure into the e brake system? 2"-3" just seems like a lot to me.
