Some of you wanted to know how I mounted my e-fan in my shroud, well, the pics below should tell you -- it's a "Griggs Rig", lol...

As you can see, I lost a blade. This is why I think offroaders should use only fans with an EVEN number of blades. If you break one, you can break off the opposite one to restore balance. With odd numbered blade fans, this is a pain. Sawred (Mike) broke one back in April and ended up with like a 3 blade fan or something before he had it balanced.

As you can see, I broke off the opposing blade, and the fan runs true again.

Also, I had epoxied in the mounting pieces to the fan housing and two of them broke loose from the vibration. You can see what I did in one picture with some metal clips I had in the junk box. It keeps the slide-on mounting tab from sliding off the back of the fan.

When the fan was vibrating so badly, it pulled loose the silicone rubber sheet I used to fill the void between the 16" fan and the 18" shroud. That piece came out from the housing and rubbed against the tensioner and got a hole worn in it. You can see it looking "shredded".

It's back together and running true. It's been in there for quite a while with no problems, but when I was offroading a week or so ago I left the fan on continuous run when I hit a hole. Usually, when you're running at holes the engine is so cool your fan doesn't run, but not this time. In the dark I must have hit that switch when I was reaching for the locker. I know I looked and saw the locker was still on and didn't know how that was as I remembered turning it off.

This is a good case to be made for Winks "fan on" indicator.

After being stranded on the side of the road from over heating, the fan on light is a must.

I should have put one on, but I wanted it to run from the actual power going to the fan, after the fuse, and I was too lazy to run one more wire, lol...I paid for it.
