Hey Everybody!
Gal really needs advice. I've got to replace my muffler ( or maybe from the cat back) on my 2007 Ranger 2.3 with 112 wheel base. Need an economical one that won't rust out or fall apart quickly. Gotta go aftermarket as Ford no longer produces. Going to have a welder buddy of mine put on. What are your recommendations for something quality but that won't break the bank? Parts department told me Walker, but then I've seen some bad things online. But ya never know. Anybody have long term experience/knowledge about a economical systems/parts that hold up well? And on the other side of the coin- any to completely avoid? Would like quiet again . Thanks! Jenn

 

Walker is as good as anybody, and seeing you have a welder buddy, That's the way I'd go.

But for me personally, I've had better luck with going to places like Midas Muffler and telling them what I want (quiet, long lasting) and letting them do it, that way there's a warranty.

Now It's been a while since I've replaced my exhaust on anything, but the prices Midas charged (parts and labor) were not much more than what I could buy the parts for.

 

Thanks so much for your reply 2011 Supercab! I did have Midas price it out the other day, as that was part of my thinking too, but it was significantly more in labor. Would have cost me about three times as much as having my buddy do it for $100. Still , I appreciate any and all input from you and other folks here
