Sunday Project
So this morning i set off to the autoparts store planning on replacing my fuel filter. I got distracted and ended up picking up this...
Saving up for a nice exhaust system isnt really an option for me, and for less than 30 bucks for the whole setup, its pretty easy on the wallet.
I just hacked off the muffler and used an adapter and some clamps to bolt a Cherry bomb turbo muffler in place. Im happy with the way it turned out. nice and low, not obnoxiously loud. the video makes it seem more raspy than it is.

The stock exhaust had a 2 inch outer diameter. the new muffler has a 2.25 inch inner diameter. I picked up a 2 inch inner diameter to a 2.25 inch outer diameter adapter and 2 exhaust clamps that fit each of the fittings.

I have been well pleased with the Cherry Bomb Turbo mufflers. They sound nice, and don't get over loud as they warm in, unlike some cheapo mufflers do. Just don't break the distributor drive gear on the highway and dump massive amounts of fuel into the pipes and light it off. I did that on the Fairlane and blew the seams out of both of 'em. Good times......

Do you relize you could have bought a muffler with a 2"inside diameter and not needed the adapter?

i just dumped it on the exit side. it would need a 2" outside diameter to not need an adapter and im not sure if they have those. its not a big deal with the adapter either. a 2 dollar part. even if both tubes were the same diameter you would still need a third piece to connect the two
