First Junkyard trip

I had the day off yesterday so I decided I needed to go walk the nearby junkyard and see if I find anything interesting. I was mainly looking for door locks because I broke one of mine, but I was up for any good find. Well, it must have been my lucky day because they had just got a rolled 00 XLT 4X4. I got my door locks and looked around at all the other cool stuff the truck had. I don't like buying from the particular junkyard because they don't have very good deals, but this 00 ranger has a 4.0 and all the drivetrain. I know if I'm going to swap engine I might as well go with the 5.0. So I'm not even going to try, but I was excited to find such a great find. I thought you all would like to know.

When I rolled my '99 4.0l 4x4 the engine was pretty much in perfect condition. 75k miles or so. When it rolled the radiator had blown up and it crushed the airconditioning and power steering pump, but I bet the engine was still perfect. Transmission too.

The rear axle snapped in half though :x

The junkyards around here are so crappy that I am having other people search their local junkyards for me. Which sucks because I really like the part about going to junkyards and tearing stuff apart. Also I noticed the junkyards in my area charge way too much for the stuff they are selling. The one about two minutes from my house is selling a A4LD transmission for the first generation Explorers for $700 with no warranty. I think that is harsh. Hopefully someday I will find a great deal or a new junkyard.
