First time in 7 years Rockauto let me down
Effing upper balljoints have only been 1 of many issues getting my axles together, but it's a surprising one.
Rockauto has never let me down in 7 years, even after the 2nd mistake I had hope. Not to worry though, I'll still order from them. Now that I got to the bottom of it.
Anyway, I tried ordered upper balljoints for my D30 and of course I went with Mood Problem Solvers. I went to Rockauto and ordered the ones for my axle and a few days later my buddy calls and says they don't fit.
I thought he was messing with me. I didn't get a pic of them on the axle but I have a side by side comparison.

See? Not even close. Apparently Moog has 2 different style balljoints with the same part number. Rockauto must not know this, even the local O'Reiley's or Autozone didn't know, they had the incorrect ones.
Luckily another parts store had the correct ones. For future reference, here is what you'll need to look for
This is the correct one

This one doesn't fit.

The only way to know the difference is to take them out of the box and look, since they both have the same part number it makes it very tricky.
I'm emailing Rockauto about this to see what they know.

Technically its a manufacturer problem not supplier but they'll take care of you. I had a problem with a part on my first truck and they refunded me the full price and I ended up with free tie rods lol

True, it's just odd that there's 2 styles for 1 part number. I know Rockauto will make good on it, it's just a pain having to go through all this trouble for a simple part

I'll always buy Moogs, if I can't get Moog. I'd get Spicer
