First Vehicle Owner Needs Advice

In November I purchased a 04 Ranger with 220k miles on it. It is a PK style trim which I can't for the life of me figure out what that means. I was willing to purchase this vehicle with the milage because I had known the owner and he always made sure to take care of his general maintenance. I have recently run into an issue that seems very common with Rangers, and that is the shifting. This being my first vehicle, I don't have much experience to put the issue into words so patience will be needed. The issue started a couple months after I purchased the vehicle.
