I've been wanting to put on an aftermarket muffler, and after some youtube videos I found that the flowmaster 10 series is what I want, but there's a problem. There's a flowmaster 10 series and a flowmaster super 10 series, to which I can't find any difference between.

Anyone care to shed some light on this?

 

That's a very serious muffler, that isn't intended for street use. If you have at least somewhat of a decent relationship with your neighbors, this isn't the muffler I would use.

As for the difference, all I see listings for are the Super 10. It's possible that the regular 10 was just mislabeled wherever you saw it.

 

Wasn't aware of that, lol. Everyone hates everyone where I live, so I doubt they'd care much. I'm not the type to floor it in a neighborhood anyway, but a lot of crotch-rocket owners are. Regardless of what muffler I use, even stock, people are going to think I'm a tool anyway

In all seriousness, though; thanks for the advice Would you happen to know the diameter of the stock exhaust pipe, as well?

 

I have these on a 3.8 v6 mustang and a v8 f150 and i was kinda disappointed there not what i was expecting them to be in the loudness category but they are a really good mufflers tho.

 

Can't remember for sure, but it's incredibly small. I wanna say it's 2", but don't hold me to that.

 

I was thinking either that or 2 1/4. The smallest size I can get appears to be 2 1/2 as far as the flowmaster 10 goes.

 

I think it's 2'' but i believe newer models are 2 1/4 when i was doing mine i got some coupling for like 4 dollars at advance

 

All I know Flowmaster itself doesn't recommend the Super 10 for street driven vehicles.

 

Hmm, that's a shame. Annoying people that already hate me is one thing (lol), but it's starting to sound like this may be a cop magnet.
