My truck got better! ?

Hey, hope everyone is having an awesome weekend. So my inspection expired at the beginning of this month. Right before that a check engine light came on. i pulled the code, and i forgot what it was, but when i looked it up online it said that my throttle position sensor was out of range. when the guy pulled the code he told me it could also be my IAC. I havent had the money to fix it yet, i was planning on starting by replacing my tps. and cleaning out my IAC. i can do that right?

well i got in my truck this morning and no check engine light. Awesome, but i doubt it is really fixed. i have been filling up my truck 1/4 tank at a time, but for the hurricane i put a full tank in and have run half of it though. could this be part of the reason?

My idle has been inconsistent, but not too bad as to stall out the truck. sometimes a couple hundred rpm high, sometime low, most the time fine. this is consistent with the IAC or the TPS right? My gas mileage has gone to **** too. Ive been getting about 15 driving around town. Ive been running straight pipes for a while too, any thoughts on this? my thought is that the cats can provide back pressure, but i really dont know.

that turned out to be a longer post, but does anyone have any insight on all of this?

thanks

Lee

Have you considered checking into your O2 sensors, and cleaning your MAF/Throttle Body area properly? Sounds like some issues with that perhaps.
