Fog light mod dangerous?

Okay after the post in off topic about the wiring harness you can buy off ebay. I was contacted by the seller. I linked them to the how to mod on here.

This is there response
thats a cool mod. messing in the fuse box is a VERY unsafe idea. i would NEVER recommend that to anyone.
no need to bash our product when we stand behind it.
Would like some one to explain to me how this is unsafe compared to there product they sell.

The fog light mod you're talking about, this is the one where you bend the relay prong? Or something else?

Either way, he is full of crap and wants you to buy his product instead.

Oh. Well, same response. Like anything else with wiring, it is safe as long as you don't do it wrong.

I linked him to both mods the one for the
01-03 mod

The other link was for the 04-06 mod by adding the wire.

Has anyone with a 2007-2009 done this mod? If so is it the same as the 04-06 version

No, the 2007~9 electrical system is very different and would require bypassing the SJB and adding a relay or two..

I don't see why you would want this done anyway. Buy a set of lights if you want more light.

It can be useful when offroading at night. Though since I have HID's I dont have brights anymore. So I dont have to do this mod. Though I did add 2 100watt lights to make up for the lack of brights lol.

Set of good lights 100 + dollars

Ebay wire harness $18.00

Bending a fuse or adding a wire = Priceless

I have seen new lights for like $60. That's nothing. Just save for it. I'd rather have a new set of lights because the stock lighting is crappy no matter what unless you switch the bulbs for HID.
