they aren't killing it yet, there redesigning for 2012 and its gonna look like the ones the rest of the world has as per the focus and fiesta. most auto makers are going to do away with different cars in different regions and just go with universal cars around the world..beside the mustang, camaro, corvette, etc.

ford is always going to have an f series truck(best selling in the world) and a lighter mid-size truck.

as for 'ranger' it may not be around when our children/grandchildren are ready for a truck but there will always be a light truck.

as for a v-8 if you want one swap it

diesel I dislike a lot, but it is a possibility for the 2012 since its becoming an alternative fuel because of bio diesel.

it worked for them before. the fact that they are still very competitive with the other car companys small trucks with there new platforms and V8's and such says alot about the ranger. even being outdated and in need of a re-design many still look at the ranger as the best looking small truck out there right now.

Well they are competitive because they are the only car maker that makes small trucks. Everyone else has stepped up their small truck to a mid size. Then the cost comes into play. Rangers are cheap. That's the only reason I bought mine and I'm not the only one that bought it for this reason.

lol , dont forget to add the 4x4 level 3 sticker too. as far as the diesel goes what manufacture is it, like the super duty is international, I'm sure it all has to do w/ epa rules. I had seen a guy on you tube that has a cummins in his ranger, pretty slick but I think a little overboard

yeah but if you look close at those pics it was a right hand drive truck. it was spotted near detroit so everybody jumped to the conclusion that it is americas next ranger. its too fugly to be remotely succesful here

The redesigned ranger will launch as a 2012 model, and will be based on the T6 platform. AKA the global ranger.

There was a thread here a while ago, with posts that included all versions of the ranger, plus spy photos of the T6. let me go find it.

*edit.

x2 Same with a V8. Honestly V6's are in the V8 power range anyways.

I will take the time soon to get the pics loaded on here, I can play all I want, but I need the wife to upload or download them for me, Not real handy doing that, but I will soon. & as far as the 514 goes it is a 460 w/ a stroker crank .

2010 fX4

I just looked at Ford Motor Company site and the FX4 is not shown. THe SPORT model is the highlight of the ford motor company ranger model. It is showing Sport, XLT, and the XL models.
